PAUL WESLEY MAKES HIS DIRECTORIAL DEBUT — Both Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are suddenly having unsettling dreams of an alternate version of the life they might have had together. Bonnie (Kat Graham) has a disturbing encounter with Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy), who warns her about frightening changes on the Other Side. Enzo (guest star Michael Malarkey) gives Damon (Ian Somerhalder) unwanted relationship advice, then admits he is searching for a woman he loved decades before while he was held captive by the Augustines. Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) enlists Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) to help track the Travelers and keep them from taking control of Mystic Falls. Bonnie is hurt and angry when she learns that Jeremy is working with Liv behind her back. Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) shows up at the Salvatore house and explains what he knows about Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) and the Travelers to Damon, Elena and Enzo. Matt has a terrifying encounter with inhabitants of the Other Side. Finally, when Damon finds Markos, he is both relieved and disturbed by what Markos has to tell him. Paul Wesley directed the episode written by Brian Young & Caroline Dries (#518). – See more at: http://nina-dobrev.us/#sthash.Cr1ICEqo.dpuf

Is Katherine finally being ejected from Elena’s body for good? Plus, get more scoop from the March 6 episode!
Only a select few know that “Elena” (Nina Dobrev) is actually Katherine, but that number is about to grow exponentially. The March 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries finds Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) conjuring a “desperate new plan to save Elena’s life,” according to the description of the episode, titled “Gone Girl.”
My guess is that Matt, having recently discovered the truth about Elena’s possession, will be the one to clue in Caroline and Stefan. I’m also guessing the revelation will hit Stefan pretty hard, considering he totally hooks up with Elena/Katherine on the Feb. 27 episode!
The Witch Is Back
Remember that kindly witch Liv (Penelope Mitchell) we met last week? She returns March 6, and once again, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) “turn to [her] for help.”
While I’m not sure exactly what they need her help with — maybe she knows something about freeing Elena — I am sure that major magical mayhem is on the horizon. Per the episode description, “Bonnie learns of a terrifying secret that will threaten the lives of all her friends.”
Returning for the 2014-15 broadcast season are veterans Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural as well as rookies The Originals and Reign, the network announced Thursday. Arrow will be back for its third season; Vampire Diaries its sixth; Supernatural will hit 10; while Originals and Reign are the network’s first rookie series to be renewed for second runs.
“This season we’ve had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said. “The Vampire Diaries is No. 2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”
The network’s biggest success story this season, however, has been on Tuesday night. In addition to launching the strong Vampire Diaries spinoff, The Originals, as the new network No. 2 (1.7 rating adults 18-49), nine-season-old Supernatural has been hitting three-year highs. The lone holdover from the defunct WB Network, Supernatural is up double digits from last year. And Arrow, still the network’s most-watched series with 3.9 million viewers, continues to bring in men to the female-skewing network.
Worth noting: Arrow and The Vampire Diaries have also seen a 25 percent spike in digital viewing compared with last season. Supernatural has also jumped 57 percent year-over-year.
